Hitech Grand Prix are delighted to announce James Piszcyk in the 2023 ROKiT British F4 and FIA F4 UAE Championship.
Aussie driver James Piszcyk, a championship contender in the 2022 Australian Formula Ford series, skipped the closing round where he would have taken the championship title due to a clash in commitments, as he makes his step up to Formula 4 with Hitech. The young racer got behind the wheel of the Hitech car at the official F4 new driver test at Snetterton in preparation for the Trophy Race later this month, a non-championship race supporting the Formula 1 programme at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
Piszcyk started in karts in 2014 before moving on to Formula Ford in 2021, racking up valuable mileage along the way. He will return to the UAE in the New Year for the F4 UAE Championship with Hitech, before his campaign in British F4 gets underway in April with the first round taking place at Donington Park.
Piszcyk looks forward to a strong year with Hitech in Formula 4:
“It’s a great opportunity for me to join the championship-winning Hitech GP racing team. It’s going to be great to battle and challenge amongst a competitive grid of drivers, and I’m really excited to embark on my next chapter in racing.”
Dominic Stott, Hitech’s Formula 4 Team Manager, added:
“It’s great to be able to welcome Jim to the team for Abu Dhabi later this month and the 2023 season. It’s a big commitment to make the move across the pond and this is the ideal next step for him to progress. He is used to racing at the front now and that’s what we aim to continue. Having Jim onboard is another sign of where we aim to be in the new year.”
