Hitech GP has announced its driver line-up for the team’s four-car entry in the 2025 Formula Winter Series.
Leo Robinson, Thomas Bearman, and Fionn McLaughlin, all recently confirmed for Hitech’s 2025 British F4 campaign, will also be part of the team’s debut Formula Winter Series challenge. Joining them for the four-round championship held in Portugal and Spain will be British F4 driver Nina Gademan.
Formula Winter Series gets underway on 30 January and concludes on 9 March. From the opening round at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve in Portimao, the action heads to Valencia’s Circuit Ricardo Tormo, then to MotorLand Aragón, before the season finale at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. The short series provides the perfect prelude to the British F4 season which begins on 26 April at Donington Park.
Anglo-Algerian Leo Robinson is embarking on his second full season of F4, having made a big impression in his 2024 British F4 debut and finishing in a creditable sixth place in the Drivers’ Standings. 2025 will be the 15-year-old’s third year in car racing, having raced in Ginetta Junior in 2023 before switching to the Danish F4 Championship mid-season and securing fourth in the standings, despite only contesting half of the rounds.
15-year-old Thomas Bearman from Chelmsford, UK made the first step up from karting to single-seaters late in 2024, taking part in the final two rounds of British F4 and in Round 2 of the Euro 4 Championship at the Red Bull Ring in September. He finished in the UK series’ points twice and earned second and third Rookie Podium placings in the process.
Red Bull Junior Team driver Fionn McLaughlin from Northern Ireland embarks on his first season of F4 competition in 2025, so the Formula Winter Series will provide plenty of preparation for the British F4 campaign that follows. To date the 17-year-old has enjoyed success in karting at British, European and international level and spent 2024 competing in the OK class of the FIA Karting World Championship, concluding a hard-fought campaign in sixth place overall.
Hitech is also delighted to welcome Nina Gademan to the Formula Winter Series squad. The 21-year-old from Wijster in the Netherlands made her British F4 debut this season and was subsequently chosen as the wildcard entrant in the fourth round of F1 Academy at Zandvoort in August. Nina is an accomplished karter – having taken the Karting Slalom Gold medal at the 2019 FIA Motorsport Games. She also beat 1200 entrants to become part of FIA Girls on Track European Team in 2019, completing two FIA training camps.
Nina’s first turn in car racing came in the PTC Cup in a Citroen C1, finishing as the leading Rookie, and she took part in the 24 Hours of Zolder in 2022 as part of an all-female line-up, finishing second in the TB class in a BMW 325i. She is also a driver coach and prominent motorsport content creator.
The Formula Winter Series will see Hitech compete against a strong class of the best European single-seater teams in what promises to be a compelling third season for the burgeoning championship.
Commenting on Hitech’s Formula Winter Series line-up, Dominic Stott, Team Manager for F4 Championships, said: “We are looking forward to the new challenge of Formula Winter Series, on four great circuits, pitting ourselves against some of the best teams and drivers in Europe. In preparation for 2025, everyone is working hard to ensure we can hit the ground running in January and with Leo, Thomas, Fionn and Nina working well together already, and all pushing each other, we are confident in the group of people and drivers we have put together to spearhead another successful year of F4 competition.”
Formula Winter Series is for F4 cars with a Tatuus T421 chassis and Abarth engine, and uses Pirelli tyres and TM Brakes.
Each event comprises two test days and two race days, with two qualifying sessions (2x 15 mins) and three sprint races (3x 30 mins +1 lap).
The opening round lines up alongside Gedlich Racing’s inaugural Portimão 6h race weekend from 30th January-2nd February and will be broadcast live on YouTube.
