Hitech Grand Prix are delighted to announce Alex Dunne for the British F4 Championship, set to take place this weekend at Donington Park Circuit (23-24 April).

The Irish driver made his debut with the team in the FIA F4 UAE Championship earlier in the year, scoring two wins and two podiums to finish fifth in the championship overall.

With a career starting in the grassroots at the young age of nine, Dunne debuted in single-seaters in the Spanish and ADAC (German) F4 Championships, taking pole position and a podium in his maiden race at Spa-Francorchamps. On his ADAC F4 debut, Dunne took two second place finishes and two pole positions, as well as four rookie wins. Dunne is no stranger to British F4, having entered three of the four official test days during the winter months, and set the fastest times on two of those outings, at Brands Hatch and Snetterton respectively.

Commenting on the signing, Dunne added:

“I’m really happy to be racing with Hitech in British F4 this weekend after a strong start to the year with the team in F4 UAE. I look forward to building on that together, even though the tracks in the UK are new to me we’ve shown some promising pace in testing!”

British F4 Team Manager, Dominic Stott, added:

“We are excited to welcome Alex onboard for British F4. He showed strong pace in F4 UAE over the winter as we got to grips with the new generation car. Hopefully we can pick up where we left off and have a good weekend.”
