Will Macintyre confirmed for the 2023 ROKiT British F4 and FIA F4 UAE Championship

Hitech announce Will Macintyre in the 2023 ROKiT British F4 Championship certified by FIA and the FIA F4 UAE Championship

Macintyre will embark on his career in Formula 4 at the Formula 1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix later this month in a non-championship UAE F4 Trophy Race, getting underway on 18 – 20 November. The British driver will then make his return to the UAE in the New Year for the F4 UAE Championship, before his British F4 campaign kicks into action in April.

Will Macintyre’s front-running performance in this year’s Ginetta Junior Championship saw him finish second in only his rookie season, racking up six race wins and nine podiums. He also clinched the Rookie title. Starting in karts in 2018, the 15-year-old driver has acquired a number of accolades over the years. In 2019, Macintyre was signed to Sauber’s karting team for a brief programme after claiming the Italian title in the 60 Mini category and runner-up in the WSK Euro Series.

The following year he graduated to junior karting, finishing third place in the Rotax Max Challenge International Trophy, and third in the IAME Winter Cup in 2021. Macintyre then made the step up to car racing during the latter end of 2021 in the Ginetta Junior Winter Series and went on to compete in the main championship this year, taking runner-up honours.

Looking ahead to his FIA Formula 4 campaigns with Hitech, Macintyre hopes for a successful season with the Hitech Grand Prix team in 2023.

Speaking of the signing, Macintyre said:

“I am really looking forward to racing with Hitech in Formula 4. Their results last season were brilliant and it’s clear for me that this was the right team to drive with, as they not only help develop me as a better driver, but also hopefully we can win races together.”

Hitech’s Formula 4 Team Manager, Dominic Stott, added:

“I’m delighted to welcome Will to the team for 2023. He has shown he has the ability to compete at this level after an impressive season in Ginetta Juniors. The success we have had this year is a testament to the hard work everyone at Hitech has put in for our first year in F4. Having already conducted a focused test programme, we know we still have a lot of work to do but aim to hit the ground running in Abu Dhabi.”
